A small group of my Luther College classmates and I enjoyed a beautiful summer weekend in Decorah recently, and stayed at the Red Bird House, actually booking it at the last minute. The house was cute, clean, cozy, and wonderful overall. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book it again sometime in the future! Thanks for sharing your house with us Craig and Dana!

First-rate treatment

We were so impressed with A Red Bird House. It was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Not only was everything extremely clean with every need provided for, but the beauty and artistic decor of the entire home made our stay exceptionally pleasurable. All the details of the furnishings, art, decorations, and history of this home showed originality and cleverness one would never find in a chain hotel. We truly enjoyed the first-rate treatment.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The Red Bird House was cute, cozy, and comfortable. The special decorative touches including the coffee bar, wine bar, phonograph player complete with record albums, and so much more were delightful and unexpected. We will be back!

Luther College

We owned this house in the late 80's and early 90's when my three girls were little. Spent 9 Christmases on Baker Ave. We thought it would be fun to spend one more there now that all the girls have grown up. They had fun sleeping in their old rooms and remembering days gone by. Loved what you have done with the house and really enjoyed our visit.

Enjoyable stay

Clean, quiet, comfortable, and walking distance from shops and restaurants. We've stayed at A Red Bird House twice and will be back again. We appreciate the space and comfort of staying in a house instead of a hotel. The decor and amenities are just right.

We walked around beautiful Decorah - Loved the farmer's market. We recommend A Red Bird House, Bike Trail, Farmers market, Luther, museum and breweries. We loved the cool wine bar here. Great place to stay! Thanks for everything hope to be back.

Fall Wedding

From the moment we opened the back gate, this charming home lived up to its promise. We had a mix of parents and twenty-somethings, and the house offered something for everyone - a great mix of books, games and records; a well furnished kitchen; cozy layered quilts and blankets; sunny outdoor seating; and places to perch throughout. Every space was spotless. Thank you for a perfect getaway as we celebrated the wedding of dear friends!
